Welcome to the NMBCC

The Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center (NMBCC), once called “The House”, was designed to be a home away from home for the Black community of Indiana University Bloomington. The NMBCC serves as a bridge connecting Indiana University to Black culture and has a long standing history of supporting Indiana University’s efforts to recruit, retain and develop Black students. We are sincerely committed to facilitating programs and services that promote knowledge and awareness of the Black experience.

The core values of the Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center are:

1. Engagement, support, and development of Black students
2. Exploration and celebration of Black culture and all of its intersections
3. Involvement and service to a global Black community

A wonderful team of staff members and volunteers work tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of our students. We strive to create a culturally rich environment that supports all members of our community. It is our hope that every person walks away with the feeling that the Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center is a place where you are not only welcome, but where you belong.

You are welcome to browse the Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center’s website and let us know if you have any questions regarding what the NMBCC has to offer the Indiana University community.

See you soon!
