Welcome to Our House

I would like to personally welcome you to the Indiana University Marcellus Neal and Frances Marshall Black Culture Center also known as the “The House.” The Neal and Marshall Black Culture Center serves as a bridge connecting Indiana University to Black culture and has a storied history in supporting Indiana University’s efforts to recruit and retain Black students. At the NMBCC, we facilitate programs and services to promote knowledge and awareness of the Black experience. We are committed to Academic Excellence, providing our Students with relevant Services, Community Building, and supporting the University’s efforts in the recruitment and retention of African American students.

The NMBCC staff joins me in a heartfelt effort to make a difference in the lives of our students. We strive to create a warm and welcoming environment that supports students academically, socially, and emotionally. Neal Marshall is a place where you belong. I would like to personally invite you to browse the Neal and Marshall Black Culture Center’s website and let us know if you have any questions regarding what the Neal and Marshall Black Culture Center has to offer the Indiana University community.

We look forward to hearing from you in the near future.
