The Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center Pin

NMBCC Pin--Neal Marshall Black Culture Center Academic Excellence

The pin features the Neal-Marshall Center's logo, adapted from an Adinkra symbol of the Asante people of Ghana in Africa. This pin is presented to first-year students during the First-Year Pinning Ceremony at the beginning of each fall semester as a way of welcoming them into our community.

The name of the symbol, in the Akan language, is "Nea onnim no sua a ohu," which means "knowledge comes by learning."
